Vintage Design
Bookcase with 4 doors (2 glass & 2 wooden). “Torcello” series by Afra & Tobia Scarpa For Stilldomus Italy 1964. An innovative project in the early 1960s that joined walnut wooden panels via a metal profile. Workmanship shows incredible attention to detail. The doors are completely airtight & dustproof with metal closures and cabinet handles. Bookcases rest on wooden round feet lined with felt underneath, designed to be decorative as well as functional. Hinges are elegant and unobtrusive. Backs are polished to enhance the “flame” grain pattern typical of walnut.
