1992 Gianni Versace ‘Malevich’ inspired unisex bomber jacket

After the well-received SS 1991 Vogue and Pop Art-Collection, Versace continued to build on this in the following seasons. Gianni Versace – who was inspired by pop culture, as well as by high art – gives the wearer a lesson in art history with these collections where he makes references to art movements like Futurism and Cubism represented in the works of Pablo Picasso, Robert Delaunay and Kazimir Malevich a.o.

Ukrainian-born Soviet artist Kazimir Malevich – who is more commonly known for his abstract works – had a brief flirtation with Futurism. Versace took elements from that period and that resulted in this outstanding jacket. Even its round shape and conical sleeves refers to Futurism and Cubism in a way. The light-weight cotton fabric ensures smooth movement, feels wonderfully soft and the bright colors will boost your mood and the people around you.
