Vintage Design
French walnut chest of drawers; the first drawer at the top is ”secret”, so it has no handles and is less capacious, the other three are exposed, have sophisticated bronze handles and are much more spacious; again in bronze are the decorations that finish the two columns, very particular and elaborate is that of the lock with flowers and a puttino head; the upper floor consists of a slab of black and white marble with strong veins (certainly from the Apuan Alps Italy), the mechanism of the locks and the key are original. The style is a late Empire of 1850, in fact at the death of Napoleon (1814), during the Restoration period and shortly after, the rich Empire style became more linear, delicate and contained in the measurements of the furniture, this chest is a characteristic example. Produced in France in 1850.
