Vintage Design
This beautiful antique bridal chest dates from 1871 and has a highly decorative painting. This example comes from Romania and is a beautiful example of folk art from that time. In the past, it was customary to give bridal furniture like this as a gift to the couple at a wedding. This furniture was subsequently placed on the farm in a stately room that was only rarely used for high-ranking visitors or special occasions. All our bridal chests have been checked and, if necessary, restored, although the characteristic appearance of these cases has been retained. For example, some repairs have been made to the bottom of this box and the whole has been treated against woodworm and provided with beeswax. This copy is mainly decorated with floral paintings with the wedding date centrally in the love heart. 40cm high, 103cm wide, 50cm deep.
