Vintage Design
This is a fine example of a “Nonna” rocking chair designed by Paul Tuttle in 1972 for Strässle International, Switzerland. The materials used on this chair are an attractive combination of tubular chrome, ebonised bentwood, leather and canvas. The seat and backrest consist of a thick black canvas, which is fixed to the frame with a large buckle and strap, onto which the black leather is stitched. The chrome is bright, without pitting; the black ebonised bentwood frame is chip free with just the right amount of patination to the tops of the curved arms; and the thick black leather upholstery is soft, nicely worn and free from rips of tears. Overall this chair is in very good vintage condition, with very little wear.
