A beautiful and intricate hand embroidered evening bag from India. The use of gold and silver thread and precious jewels in embroidery is known as Zardozi and was once used to embellish the attire of the Kings and the royals in India. A pale pink dusty silk dupioni is embroidered with several different types of antique gold tone metal threads and tiny beads on both sides. Additionally, genuine ruby beads are incorporated into the floral design. The large central flower is set with an 8 x 13 mm ruby cabochon. The interior of the bag is the same silk dupioni with snap closure and has two elastic side pockets. It measures 7.5 inches wide at the top and 11.13 inches at the bottom. It is 1.75 inches at the widest and 5 inches high.
