A beautiful and intricate hand embroidered evening bag from India. The use of gold and silver thread and precious jewels in embroidery is known as Zardozi and was once used to embellish the attire of the Kings and the royals in India. An off white to pale custard silk dupioni is embroidered with gold tone metal and silk thread in shades of greens, golds and reds on both sides. Additionally, genuine ruby cabochons and beads are incorporated into the floral design. The large central flower is set with a 10 mm star ruby. The interior of the bag is the same silk dupioni with snap closure and has two elastic side pockets. It measures 7.5 inches wide at the top and 11.13 inches at the bottom. It is 1.75 inches at the widest and 5 inches high.
